وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ
English: No one is comparable to Him.’

Meaning & Reflection
al-Razi points to the word order: 'and there is not — to Him — any equal, [not] one'. Arabic grammar would normally place that phrase later, but here 'to Him' is pushed forward, because the entire point is to deny any peer to His very Being, so the key words are given pride of place. And 'equal' is total: al-Saadi says none is like Him in His names, nor in His attributes, nor in His actions — so this short Surah completes the doctrine of Oneness in Essence, in Names, and in Acts. Ask yourself: I'm quick to compare myself to others — their looks, success, gifts. This verse insists the One truly worth my awe has no equal at all. How would that reframe what — and whom — I measure myself against?
