English: [Prophet], follow what has been revealed to you of your Lord’s Scripture: there is no changing His words, nor can you find any refuge except with Him.

Meaning & Reflection

'And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no changer of His words, and you will never find besides Him a refuge.' Ibn Ashur and al-Saadi note the anchor after the story — 'la mubaddila li-kalimatih', no one can alter His words: the revelation is fixed, unchangeable, utterly reliable, and He is the only true refuge. Ask yourself: everything else I might lean on shifts — opinions change, promises break, 'facts' get revised, people move on. This verse offers something that does not change: His words, and Him as refuge. In a world where the ground under every certainty keeps moving, the invitation is to build my footing on the one thing that cannot be altered. When I need something solid to stand on, do I keep reaching for the shifting — trends, approval, my own changing moods — or for the unchangeable word and the only unfailing refuge?

Grounded in classical tafsir: Ibn Ashur, al-Saadi, al-Biqa'i.
