وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱرْكَعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ

English: Keep up the prayer, pay the prescribed alms, and bow your heads [in worship] with those who bow theirs.

Bengali: আর নামায কায়েম কর, যাকাত দান কর এবং নামাযে অবনত হও তাদের সাথে, যারা অবনত হয়।

'And establish prayer, give zakat, and bow with those who bow.' al-Saadi and Ibn Kathir note the three pillars named — prayer (the bond with God), zakat (the duty to society's poor), and 'bow with those who bow', the *communal*, congregational dimension of worship. Ask yourself: notice the third command — worship is not only private but *together*, 'with those who bow'. Faith here is not a solitary project but a shared one, practised in community, shoulder to shoulder. In an age that privatises and individualises everything, including spirituality, this verse insists on belonging — on joining the congregation, not just praying alone. Am I building my faith in isolation, on my own terms and schedule — or am I 'bowing with those who bow', anchored in a community of worship that holds me steady when my own resolve wavers?
