وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِ

English: His are the moving ships that float, high as mountains, on the sea.

Meaning & Reflection

'And His are the ships, raised high in the sea like mountains.' Ibn Ashur and al-Saadi note the ownership: though human hands build the ships, the verse says they are *His* — the buoyancy, the sea, the winds, the very possibility of sailing are all His provision, so the towering vessel is really His gift dressed as our achievement. Ask yourself: I look at human accomplishment — the great ship, the aircraft, the towering enterprise — and read it as a monument to our ingenuity. This verse quietly re-attributes it: 'His are the ships.' Everything I 'built' floats on laws, materials, and capacities I was given. How much of what I proudly call *mine* is, at its foundation, actually *His* — just passing through my hands?
