صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

English: the path of those You have blessed, those who incur no anger and who have not gone astray.

Bengali: সে সমস্ত লোকের পথ, যাদেরকে তুমি নেয়ামত দান করেছ। তাদের পথ নয়, যাদের প্রতি তোমার গজব নাযিল হয়েছে এবং যারা পথভ্রষ্ট হয়েছে।

Meaning & Reflection

Watch how Allah defines the straight path — not as a list of rules but as people: 'the path of those You have favoured.' Ibn Ashur notes the phrasing makes the abstract concrete and reassuring; al-Biqa'i adds that naming the favoured ones magnifies the road itself. Elsewhere the Qur'an names them — the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous (Ma'arif al-Qur'an). Then come two warnings: those who knew the truth and abandoned it, and those who strayed in ignorance — a quiet map of how a heart goes wrong, by corrupt will or by corrupt knowledge. Ask yourself: guidance has real travelling companions — whose footsteps am I actually following day to day, and are they on this road, or off it?
