Surah Yaseen 36:16 — Meaning, Translation & Reflection
سُورَةُ يسٓ · Meccan · Verse 16 of 83
قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ
English: They said, ‘Our Lord knows that we have been sent to you.
Bengali: রাসূলগণ বলল, আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার জানেন, আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
Meaning & Reflection
The messengers replied: 'Our Lord knows that we are truly sent to you.' Ibn Ashur notes they do not spiral into argument or try to force belief; they anchor their certainty in Allah's knowledge, not the crowd's approval. It is enough that their Lord knows the truth of their mission. Ask yourself: when my sincerity is doubted, I burn enormous energy trying to prove it to people who have already decided against me. The messengers model a quieter strength — 'our Lord knows' — resting the case with the only Witness who matters. Could I let that be enough more often, instead of exhausting myself performing my sincerity for an audience that isn't watching to be convinced?
Grounded in classical tafsir: Ibn Ashur, al-Saadi, al-Biqa'i.

- Personal Experience. Ask not just what this means, but what it means TO me and FOR me, right now in my life.
- Connections. How does this verse connect to other verses, to the Sunnah, or to themes across the Quran?
- General Lessons. What timeless lesson or action point can I carry away and live by?
