Surah Yaseen 36:4 — Meaning, Translation & Reflection

سُورَةُ يسٓ · Meccan · Verse 4 of 83

عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

English: on a straight path,

Bengali: সরল পথে প্রতিষ্ঠিত।

Meaning & Reflection

'On a straight path.' al-Razi notes the phrase describes not just where the Prophet stands but the whole shape of his way: the straight path is the most direct route to the goal, with no crookedness or detour — and the goal is Allah Himself. al-Saadi adds that this path is a life of sound deeds and refining character, healing heart and body, this world and the next. Ask yourself: 'straight' means the shortest honest line to what matters — no weaving, no hidden agenda. When I look at how I actually move through my days, am I walking a straight line toward my Lord, or a winding one that keeps circling back to myself?

Grounded in classical tafsir: al-Razi, al-Saadi, Ibn Kathir.
