إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

English: when He wills something to be, His way is to say, “Be”- and it is!

Bengali: তিনি যখন কোন কিছু করতে ইচ্ছা করেন, তখন তাকে কেবল বলে দেন, ‘হও’ তখনই তা হয়ে যায়।

Meaning & Reflection

'His command, when He wills a thing, is only to say to it: Be — and it is.' Ibn Ashur and al-Biqa'i note the absolute ease at the summit of the Surah: no struggle, no process, no raw material required — a single word, and existence obeys. 'Kun fa-yakun' is power without effort. Ask yourself: I measure difficulty by how hard *I* would find something, and project that strain onto God — as if my impossible must be His impossible too. This verse dissolves that: for the One whose 'Be' brings worlds into being, there is no scale of hard and easy at all. Whatever I am begging Him for — a change of heart, a healing, a way out — is, on His side, a single word. Do I ask Him as though it costs Him effort, or as the One who need only say 'Be'?
