English: Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?

'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' al-Saadi notes that even the forewarning of the reckoning — 'We shall attend to you' — is a favour, because a warning delivered *in advance* is a mercy that still leaves room to prepare. Ask yourself: I resent being warned, hearing it as pressure or threat. But a warning about a real, coming appointment, given while I can still get ready, is one of the kindest things I can receive. Which of His favours will I deny — including the mercy of being told, clearly and early, what is coming? The refrain keeps reframing what I'd file as fearsome into what it truly is: an act of care aimed at saving me.
