فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
English: Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?
Bengali: অতএব, তোমরা উভয়ে তোমাদের পালনকর্তার কোন কোন অবদানকে অস্বীকার করবে?
Meaning & Reflection
'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' The refrain rests on the gift of pure, faithful companionship — a bond untainted and wholly given. al-Saadi notes the favour is love without flaw or division. Ask yourself: even the companionship I have in this life — the loyalty, the being truly seen — is a mercy I take for granted until it is threatened. Which of these bonds will I deny by treating them as owed rather than gifted? The refrain nudges me to look at the people who love me faithfully and see them, too, as favours from the Merciful — and to guard and honour that gift rather than assume it will always simply be there.
