'And water flowing constantly.' al-Saadi and Ibn Ashur note 'ma'in maskub' — water perpetually poured, ever-running, never cut off or stagnant. Ask yourself: flowing water is the ancient sign of life, refreshment, and abundance — and its constancy is the point. Everything that refreshes me here is intermittent: relief comes and goes, the well runs low, I must keep seeking the next source. This verse pictures refreshment that simply *keeps flowing*, requiring no anxious hunt for more. It answers the exhausting sense that I must constantly secure my own supply of comfort. Where am I living as though I must ration and chase every drop of relief — when the reward held out is a refreshment poured without ceasing?
